Introduction to R Training

20 August 2015 - 9:00 tot 16:00
- European Data Innovation Hub @ AXA, Vorstlaan 23, 1170 Brussel

Business Analytics is the study of data through statistical and operations analysis, the formation of predictive models, application of optimization techniques and the communication of these results to customers, business partners and colleague executives. It is the intersection of business and data science.
Ordina VisionWorks had a dedicated team of experts focussing on Data Science.

Alexander Van den Bulck is one of our experts, a data scientist with a strong background in programming, machine learning and data mining. He’s currently using R to help companies with data science problems like churn prediction, customer segmentation, stock optimization, etc.

For August 20, he has been asked as a trainer by The Brussels Data Science community (the European knowledge hub for Big Data and Data Science) to give an introduction to R.

The training consists of theory & exercises for introducing you to the essentials of R such as atomic types and data frames, but also touches more advanced topics such as environments and lazy evaluation. You will learn about the different uses of R and pick up tips for packages & follow-up courses.
