Care costs are rising sharply. This is partly due to the ageing of the population, but also to an unhealthy lifestyle and an increase in the number of people with multiple disorders. In addition, we have to deal with care cuts and a shortage of nursing staff. All this means that care and support are under pressure. This calls for a reflection on the way we handle care. We need solutions that are feasible and affordable. And we need solutions that do justice to citizens and help increase their opportunities for social participation and quality of life. QULI can help with this. QULI stands for Quality Of Life. QULI is an initiative of four care institutions (Dr Leo Kannerhuis, Arq, Pluryn and the Amarant group) and Ordina.

QULI is a health care platform that empowers citizens, offers preventive tools and enables them to take control of their care and welfare. Through the social network they can learn, work and get help more easily. Via the personal health record they exchange medical information with their social network, resulting in less travel and paperwork, which in turn leads to reduced CO2 emissions. In Quli, citizens are encouraged and rewarded for activities that promote health. The apps in Quli’s appstore also help them in a smart way, because QULI knows who they are, where they are, who they know, what they are feeling and what they are doing.

Important aspects in the application of QULI are interventions and contact moments with a practitioner. These interventions and contact moments make it possible for a care organisation to treat more clients or patients in the same time and with the same numbers of care staff. It is therefore extremely important that QULI is implemented in a large number of care organisations. The more care organisations sign up, the more efficient care becomes for citizens and the more the individual care organisations can save on providing care.

Care institutions that use QULI find that QULI helps:

  • Increase revenues
  • Cut costs and reduce CO2 emissions
  •  Improve the quality of care and
  • Make citizens more self-reliant
  • Boost the involvement of the social network of citizens.
