Case - Smart cargo handling

When a plane lands, it is the responsibility of the cargo handlers to move the luggage from the hold and return them to the passengers as quickly as possible. Everyone knows the trolleys – or dollies – used for this. However, it can be a challenge to know where those dollies are. Smart localisation of the dollies is therefore not an unnecessary luxury.

By attaching a geo-tracking sensor to all dollies, cargo handlers can quickly find the nearest dolly, can avoid fines for being on the tarmac too long and there is an oversight of the use of each device both by in-house staff and of unlawful use by competitors. Knowing the actual use also allows coordination of maintenance to it.
