BI & Analytics

We increase our customers' 'Return on Data' by taking them on a journey to a modern & innovative data culture.

Ordina’s BI & Analytics unit, VisionWorks, works for companies that focus on data driven decision-making. More and more data is collected and recorded digitally. It is becoming increasingly more complex to get the right information, efficiently merged and made available. This is our specialisation. In addition to expertise in ETL-tools, our team is familiar with traditional business intelligence (BI) solutions such as Microsoft BI, SAP BW, Cognos, QlikView, Tableau, Informatica, etc. With business analytics and data science we go one step further. We translate quantitative data into valuable insights and forecasts.

We increase our customers’ Return on Data by taking them on a journey to a modern and innovative data culture. We organically grow into the most focused, fast, flexible, friendly and fun BI & data science community on the Benelux market employing more than 100 growing and happy employees.

Microsoft Data Platform & BI

VisionWorks-Microsoft Data platform & BI (VW-MS-BI) is a no-nonsense practice that strives to have expertise within the broad Microsoft Data and Analytics platform. We work with on-premise technologies such as SQL Server and its related services such as integration, reporting, analysis and machine learning services. With cloud technologies becoming mainstream in the last couple of years, we continue to build expertise in Microsoft Azure’s broad offerings as well. Think of services like Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake and Analytics, HDInsight, Cosmos DB, Azure Machine Learning and of course Power BI.

Our primary internal goal is to create a modern and innovative data culture. We do this by building a fun community that ensures our consultants are happy and constantly growing on both a personal and professional level. Our secondary internal goal is to grow closer to other business units and practices so that we can offer our skills to ensure cross-business unit projects can succeed. Our external goal is to serve Ordina’s customers in the manner that they need. Whether it is through pure consultancy, solution offerings or even customer care offerings, the VW-MS-BI practice is ready for it.

DataTalks, the practice of big data & cloud, data science and data visualization

It all began in 2015, the year where new buzz-words like ‘data science’ and ‘big data’ emerged and new, ratter magical, projects were foreseen. Our managers quickly realized the potential of this new market space and a new competence center was born. It was only after hard work, smart thinking and never ever giving up, that we now see an exponential growth in requests for data science consultants and new projects that are coming in. It seems that our customers are finally starting to realize the value of data driven decision making or at least want to explore the possibilities.

The word ‘data science’ has many definitions and has a different meaning for most of our customers and even within our team. In general we see two types of requests or projects in our practice: first, set-up of cloud and big data architectures and managing of data flows. And second, predictive modeling and advanced analytics. Each of these use cases require different skillsets, yet both are called data science. In 2016 another competence center was created, called ‘Data Visualization’. Many of you will immediately link this to ‘just’ dashboarding, but you couldn’t be more wrong in this case. In this competence center we take visualization to the next level, the level where it almost becomes a form of art. Our goal is to create new solutions and to do cross-competence projects, which is only possible if we combine the ETL & infrastructural side with the advanced analytics and visualizations.
